Hello everyone, I’ve partnered with FaveCrafts to teach a free Zoom class this month. The 1-hour class will show you how to make these beautiful 3-dimensional fabric flowers! The flowers are simple but elegant, and can be attached to pinbacks, hair clips, alligator clips, or sewn directly to a tote bag or other item. They are heat-shapeable by using a curling iron, and are great projects for beginning and experienced crafters alike. Since the flowers are so versatile, they make perfect accents for tote bags, sandals, lapel pins, hair accessories, and even wreaths.

I often make fabric flower hair clips out of the scraps left over from hemming or altering a formal dress for a client. The flower hair clips make a great accessory to go with a prom dress or bridesmaid dress, since you know that the fabric is going to match the dress exactly.

If you’ve seen my post about how to restyle a vintage wedding dress, you’ve already seen one of these fabric flowers. I used pieces of the bride’s mother’s wedding dress and veil to create a fascinator that featured a shimmery, pearlized white flower with beads in the center. It was a great way to make a modern hair accessory out of a traditional veil that had a lot of sentimental meaning to the bride!

See you there!
